This park is known in the region as the sanctuary of many gorillas, that is why it is appointed as the leading gorilla safari destinations particularly in East Africa. The park is mainly located in the south western of Uganda; this part of Africa is the house of about 700 species of extinct mountain gorilla. There are two kinds of groups in Mountain Gorillas and these are the Habiyania group which have 23 gorillas and the Mubare group which have 16 gorillas. On the other hand the half of the gorillas could be found in the Rwanda’s Virunga National Park.

This incredible national park was once been a reserve during 1942 and eventually been upgraded as a genuine National Park in 1992. Bwindi was then named as UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1994. From then it already boasts off to the tourists to view the giant mountain gorillas wandering in their natural habitat. The best adventure that tourists can encounter in the park is trekking on their 32, 000 hectares of intertwined vegetation just to look for these giant primates. Due to this it is designated as one of the best Uganda safaris in Africa that attracts millions of tourists all over the world.

Another interesting adventure to experience in Bwindi National Park is birdwatching. The park is also a home of about 360 species of birds. In fact, the park’s forest is known in East Africa as one of the best habitats of birds. Bwindi is not just famous because it is visible of the gorilla species but it is also known for many different species like 160 species of trees, 90 mammal species, 310 butterfly species and more. If you were looking for the best Africa travel holiday adventure, this park is a good choice.
