Kenya is among the most visited country in Africa. With Masai Mara which spearheaded the beckoning of the tourists to the country. And now, it has now come into a closer scrutiny as it was the home of the father of the president of the United States. Some ask the location, activities and some try locate it on their world map or globe. Some just wanted to read some interesting facts about this place.
Kanya is in the heart of Eastern Africa surrounded by Uganda, Sudan, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Somalia. Africa is a continent with an elephant’s ear shape. It consists of 47 countries and 6 island more; 53 in all counting the islands.
Kenya is the safari capital of the world together with Nairobe. Expect to rub elbows with the Big Five. Well, not literally for caution and an expert guide should be needed to get a better look with these animals. Besides the animals, lush-greenery, tall trees, high and forest filled mountains are also an attraction. In fact, Karen Dixen was so in love with Kenyas scenery that she wrote a book about it which landed on the silver screen.
Yet, the poets and literature-minded has also there own niche her in Kenya. Kenya has brought about few famous authors with their books/story shown in the silver screen worldwide; with artist like Kim Basinger, playing the leading role.
Kenya’s Climate is just perfect for a safari travel. Kenya is fortunate in its tropical climate which varies from hot, humid near the coast, and dry climate in the other parts of the country.
Expect to meet longs rain when you visit the place form April to June and shorter ones from October to December. Yet, the Serengeti annual migration is just on the perfect climate which occurs between June and September.
Other interesting things to grab while you are on Safari in Kenya are Kangas and kikois; they are bought for souvenirs. Though the purpose they serve here in Kenya may be different on what you got on your mind. Kangas which are sold in twos are wrapped around the waist and the other is used to carry babies.
After grabbing your souvenirs or memorabilia, it is then best to get hinge on Kenya’s local delicacy- nyama choma. It is actually goat’s meat with some vegetable. It is quite a tasty, delicious and tough meat.
A glimpse of Kenya is just a bit or a foretaste of the over all experience of an African Safari. A mind-blowing experience indeed!
