I was not accustomed to the silence that met me for a zambia african safari. The quietness of the place made me doubt my resolve in coming in here. The picture I had formed in my mind for a perfect african safari seems a product of my imagination. I admit I had thought wrong about such travel. I though I would shake hands with a wild animal as soon as I step out from the plane. Funny but those expectations were not met and I thought I was going down with disappointments along the way.
Lochinvar, located in Kafue River floodplain is my destination. I did not search for it but it was given to me as a gift. So, as I lay down my cabin and the cahoots of the animals seems to seep through my subconscious, sleep stole my thoughts.
I was then awakened by an alarm clock imitating a monkey scream. Weird but it sounds so real. As I got by bearing I came face to face of a small and baby monkey screaming outside my window in my first day of zambia safari tours. It was real and it made me smile. Yes my visit to Lochinvar National Park has started and what i thought was a lame replacement of city became a burning adventure that only the courageous can take.
Though, the Lochinvar National Park is of exceptional beauty it has less encounter of huge mammals and animals. But the outstanding display of pride and skills of the 450 birds in the area took my breath away.
One ornithologist under the shadow of hundreds of birds as they flew together up into the air is a dream come true. I could not help but take pictures of those stunning creature. I know each one of them. I know how they live. I know that some of them has come back from a long journey to come back to grace the place with their presence and made a tourist zambia south africa an enticing one.
